Hey Plain Vanilla, Sorry it took so long for me to respond, I haven't been back to this side of the forums in a while. To answer your question, yes I am a spring '08 graduate of LaGcc; the program is tough but doable. I got into the program with an ...

I agree with the poster above me, one A- should not stop you from getting into the program. I graduated from the RN program in the spring and I had an A- in both A&Ps (I took the second one with fundamentals and it was difficult).

I have never been in your position (thank the Lord), and maybe I don't have room to talk because I have not worked as a nurse yet, but I wouldn't do that either. I applaud you for standing your ground and doing what's right. I know that in the real...

Ten or eleven sounds good--not too early, not too late. Good luck!! I have an open house to attend in about a week, so post back and tell me how it goes (I'm assuming that you are attending one soon).

I would think that meant that you can come anytime between 9am and 4pm. However, I would not recommend showing up at 3:50pm thinking you are going to be taken seriously. If you don't have another job or other commitments. . .the earlier the better. ...

Thanks Allimariee for the information. SNCH is not on a hiring freeze like Nassau University Medical Center, you just have to be persistent to land an interview. I hear great things about how supportive the staff is at SNCH, which makes it really ap...

I guess no one knows Sue. . .let's see if I have any luck. Anyone know the starting salary at South Nassau Communities Hospital? I read the other postings, but it just says low. . .how low is low?
The OP came on this board looking for advice, not someone telling her she should be "grateful that [she] has a job" and that she needs to "learn how to be tough and roll with the punches." Are these the type of responses you're looking for when you...

Hey hey hey now Cherry. As helpful as you have been to me, I can't have you implying that KBCC will have the highest passing rate this year. lol LaGcc had a 97% passing rate in 2007, the highest in the STATE not just CUNY; so we'll have to see what t...

What do you mean by "less than desirable shifts"? If that means doing a fair share of holidays, then yes I agree. However, if that means night shift in med-surg, then I disagree. I don't see anything wrong with a new grad going for a day position i...
it seems that you cannot validate your concerns for the "poor patients" being cared for by a rn that took multiple attempts to pass the nclex. i asked the same question that the op asked and you still haven't answered it. where is the research that c...
