  10. Patient is a famous star

I had a pt's family member once say to me.. I hear that this famous person is on this floor today. (i won't use names, of course,). I said confidently no.. if that person was here, I would definately know it, I had been there for the last 10 hours. ...
  11. Thank you's - memorable ones you've received?

I have received several little things such as: a four leaf clover, a small round heart shape stone (i work in cardiac), and cards/letters, but the one that stands out the most was in the beginning of my career I had a pt who was bed bound, a turn q2,...
  12. I don't feel like I'll ever know enough

I feel the same. I've been doing it for three years, and I still learn every day. Some of the things I learn are so simple I wonder why I didn't think of them before. But, what I realize after talking to all of my nurse friends, is that we all fee...
  13. Pyxis in Never wrong?

In my experience, the counts in the pixis is wrong a lot, not just with narcs, but all meds, and especially with the confusion of things such as: taking out one when you meant to take two, then trying to go back and get the second one without chargin...
  14. I am sorry you had to go through that. The Pt and family are lucky to have had such a caring nurse to see them through it.
  15. Your Favorite one liner used with patients

When taking off all of the surrounding tape from an IV site, especially on those with hairy arms... I say "this is the free complimentary waxing that we provide"... everyone usually giggles.
