    What are your thermoregulation guidelines? Do you go by weight to determine the need to use servo control versus manual control in the infants isolette. What is your policy/guideline for humidity.

    Our unit is trying to come up with 1 standard way for OGT/NGT collection devices on our NPO infants. Currently some nurses are using diapers taped around the end of the OGT/NGT for collection and others are putting a bottle at the end for collection....

    First, I would like to say sorry for your loss. I would say yes send the card. I know that it makes me feel better when a parent appreciates the work we do. I dont think you will be intruding. I would think they would want to know how you feel.

    Thanks for the reply. I guess our unit needs to do a little more research on the subject. One of the nurses figured it up it takes about 3 minutes to foil one tubing. On adverage we do about 20 a night. That is about an hour a day just foiling lipid...

    I have found that a lot of our IDM babys (full term) are the worst feeders. I agree with letting mom feed whenever and whatver the baby wants, instead of on a set schedual. They always seem to eat more over the 24 hour period.
