I know a Wound Care LVN at UCLA so, yes.

Google LVN to BSN. Azusa and CSUF have programs.
  3. How can I balance work and school to be successful??

Hi, Mrs. Perez. Were you working as a CNA 3pm-11pm? If so, do you think that being at work helped reinforce what you were learning in the LVN program? Also, there was just a 30 minute gap of time. So, was your hospital near school?
  4. LPN Moving to Southern California

Yes, there are openings, but how many idk. You would have to go to those facilities website. However, most of the prisons are outside of the city also. In like rural areas or the Inland Empire which is 30 miles from L.A. If you're looking to move I'd...
  5. LPN Moving to Southern California

Yes, but I'd recommend applying to place NOW. You don't want to move somewhere and not have a job lined up. Nursing homes are ALWAYS hiring CNAs/LVNs. It's LVN here btw. The pay is about $20-$25/hr for new LVNs here. Wish you well. Idk if you've ever...
  6. Anyone successfully challenge the boards?

I for one am not confused because I've considered doing this route myself and totally support you if you decide to do it. I do agree that a lot of the commenters are confused which is what my comment was directed to, but I guess I should have pushed ...
  7. Anyone successfully challenge the boards?

No, that's not what it says. There are classes required for CA too.
  8. Right path

Depends on your location and what path you want exactly. I'd recommend CNA-LVN-ADN-BSN-MSN-PhD/DNP and you can google each license and figure out the various pathways such as CNA-BSN-DNP or CNA-ADN-MSN-DNP
  9. CNA TO LVN

What school did you decide on?
  10. Is becoming a CNA worth the money?

Research your local facilities age requirements to work there. If they will hire you then inquire about whether they will pay the tuition in exchange for you working there for at least 6 months commitment. 6 months is perfect because after 6 months t...
  11. Everyone Won't Succeed. And That's Okay!

I'm confused as to why you listed the items that those in poverty have. Was that to denote that they don't deserve the title of being impoverished or poverty stricken? The items that you listed are considered necessities to a degree. Certain technolo...
  12. If you don't have a uniform...

Excuse me, but you are def my scrub-spiration. I just can't do that tho. I'm trying to be a minimalist, but I def have closet envy!
  13. Nursing school help

First off remove yourself from the negative environment that you're in. You need limited contact with THAT father. Who says THAT to their child??!! Recognize that kind of dialogue is unhealthy. I don't know how you look, but you are beautiful. Focus ...
  14. Advice for new CNA student?

Research the job. Go to bls.gov and type in nursing assistant. Know what you are expected to do and know the pay rate. You can do the same for your future nursing positions too for motivation to keep going. I feel like a lot of my classmates didn't k...
  15. CNA, Phleb, EKG, PCT?

CNA is good experience for nursing school, but low pay. Hospital Security doesn't count for anything. You may want to just get your CNA certification for nursing school admissions point and experience/networking for after nursing school. Honestly it ...
