I, too, am a new grad in the OR. Just started my nurse-internship and I'm so overwhelmed with all of the information! So glad to have a forum like this though. Good luck to all the new OR nurses!
I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling that we do not get enough clinical practice. I'm 4th of five semesters and we go to Med-Surg 7-3 once a week, one day rotation in Hospice, and three days in the Behavioral Medicine Unit.
We had a wonderful time, although we didn't get 8 clinical hours for going Florida may be different but the main reason we went was for the NCLEX reviews. There were four total, one was especially helpful, Pharmacology Made Easy. Sylvia (I forget ...
I'm so excited, about eight of us from my school will be attending. We went to our state convention and had such a great time, we can't wait until the national conference. Will anyone be attending this year? If so, where will you be coming from? ...

They said there aren't enough students @ WCC?! Wow, that's actually hard to believe. I'm 4th of 5 semesters @ WCC-Dothan and we are practically overflowing with nursing students! My freshman class alone started with more than 100 students- we're n...

Our SNA is having our Freshman Welcome this Thursday! We'll be going to state convention in Auburn, Al and national in Atlanta. I'm excited! Lynnsey SNA president Wallace Community College Dothan, AL

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one out there in this kind of situation. I got my BS in Social Science/Psychology in '04, that got me a year of working for my grandparents while saving up my money to go to Nursing school. I'll begin semester 4 of 5...
I'm getting excited as well, although I am starting to get the jitters a bit. Just the fact of going to work not having that "net" of clincals. But excited none-the-less! :monkeydance:
Risk for constipation R/T sitting in small desks for 3 hour lectures. I have to credit my Assessment teacher for this one. These were actually some of our "bonus" questions on our Assessment final. :rotfl:
