NSNA Mid-Year Conference, Atlanta Nov. 2-5

Nursing Students General Students

I'm so excited, about eight of us from my school will be attending. We went to our state convention and had such a great time, we can't wait until the national conference. Will anyone be attending this year? If so, where will you be coming from? Just curious.

Specializes in ICU.

Could you please tell me about your state convention experience? On Oct 25th, I am going to the Florida one in Daytona with about 10 people. It covers 3 days and we get 8 clinical hours to go. I am wondering what goes on and is it worth all the money for the hotel and the fact that we miss some classes as well?

We had a wonderful time, although we didn't get 8 clinical hours for going :(

Florida may be different but the main reason we went was for the NCLEX reviews. There were four total, one was especially helpful, Pharmacology Made Easy. Sylvia (I forget her last name) did a fantastic job of giving side effects of meds in a way everyone can understand (she had a pic of a guy sitting on the toilet c a very concerned look on his face, this was to describe the SE of Anticholinergic drugs, the text was "Can't See, Can't Pee, Can't Spit, Can't S**t") It's a bit blount but I haven't forgotten it.

We were also able to mingle c other nursing students from around the state. We just had a wonderful time and can't wait until we go to Atlanta.
