I like Danskos. I wear the "Courtney" style. http://www.dansko.com/html/detail.aspx?type=2&shoe=Courtney
True, they aren't pretty enough for evening wear, but they are comfy!
Some people have a problem with the arch, though so you should go to a nursing uniform store and try on what they have in stock.
I got my nursing shoes at Work n Gear in Saugus. I got Dansko white professional shoes and I absolutely love them - worth every penny. They also have them in the gift shop/uniform store at Mass General Hospital.
Good Luck and definitely try a few different kinds on. I wish the Nursemates worked for me because they were a lot cheaper, but the Dansko really worked well for my feet.
I got mine at the New Balance outlet in Brighton ("walking" shoes)... the first pair I got from the clearance rack and paid something like $25 for them. The other pair I got from the regular racks and paid around 50 bucks (I bought the second pair so I could leave one at my PCA job and have the other for clinicals. Both are stupendously comfortable and durable.
The Clog Shop in Weymouth has all Dansko shoes that you can try on. I was planning on getting a pair there because EVERYONE recommended them..but I personally am not a big fan of "clogs"...especially White!..yuck. I ended up getting a pair of nursemate sneakers that were $55 when we ordered our uniforms at school they are called "seneca" they are wicked comfortable.

Hello nurses-
I need to get a pair of comfortable, all-white shoes for nursing school but would like to try them on first in person (as opposed to buying a bunch online and then returning the ones that don't fit). Can anyone recommend a store that would have a variety of pairs of all-white shoes that I can try on in person? I live in Boston but outside of Boston is okay too.
Thanks!
Megan
