Where to buy all white shoes?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hello nurses-

I need to get a pair of comfortable, all-white shoes for nursing school but would like to try them on first in person (as opposed to buying a bunch online and then returning the ones that don't fit). Can anyone recommend a store that would have a variety of pairs of all-white shoes that I can try on in person? I live in Boston but outside of Boston is okay too.

Thanks!

Megan

Do you have a K-Mart? They carry white of Cobbie Cuddler closed nursing shoes for about $25.

I suggest you buy the best, most supportive shoes you can afford. You are going to be spending a LOT of time on your feet, and bad shoes will cripple you at the end of a 12 hour shift.

I'm willing to spend about $100 to get good shoes, I'm pretty fussy about what shoes I wear in terms of comfort. Do you have any recommendations?

I like Danskos. I wear the "Courtney" style. http://www.dansko.com/html/detail.aspx?type=2&shoe=Courtney

True, they aren't pretty enough for evening wear, but they are comfy!

Some people have a problem with the arch, though so you should go to a nursing uniform store and try on what they have in stock.

For that much, Birkenstock Boston.

Building 19 often has white nurses' shoes (I've seen Rockers and NurseMates brand; I find the NurseMates to be better) and the prices are great!!

I got my nursing shoes at Work n Gear in Saugus. I got Dansko white professional shoes and I absolutely love them - worth every penny. They also have them in the gift shop/uniform store at Mass General Hospital.

Good Luck and definitely try a few different kinds on. I wish the Nursemates worked for me because they were a lot cheaper, but the Dansko really worked well for my feet.

I got mine at the New Balance outlet in Brighton ("walking" shoes)... the first pair I got from the clearance rack and paid something like $25 for them. The other pair I got from the regular racks and paid around 50 bucks (I bought the second pair so I could leave one at my PCA job and have the other for clinicals. Both are stupendously comfortable and durable.

just got a pair of dansko with the high arch for school. I am so excited I went to the wrentham outlets and I got them for $60!!!!they were 4105 WHERE I HAD TO ORDER MY UNIFORM...TRY BUILDING 19- THEY HAVE HIGHLY REPUTABLE BRANDS FOR THE FRACTION OF THE PRICE!!!!

The Clog Shop in Weymouth has all Dansko shoes that you can try on. I was planning on getting a pair there because EVERYONE recommended them..but I personally am not a big fan of "clogs"...especially White!..yuck. I ended up getting a pair of nursemate sneakers that were $55 when we ordered our uniforms at school they are called "seneca" they are wicked comfortable.
