Northeastern University Direct Entry

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hi everyone,

If anyone has any questions regarding the direct entry program at Northeastern University please feel free to ask. I am a first year student and I am enjoying the program very much.

It's $12,355/term for the RN portion, so 4 terms. In the masters portion it's by the unit ($1,065/unit) and the shortest masters portion is 43 units.

I applied for the Fall as well but haven't heard anything. I'm assuming that since people already interviewed, that means I'm not being accepted.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, I am currently doing my undergrad at Northeastern right now in Psych. However, I realized, maybe too little to late that nursing was the way I wanted to go. If anyone has any information on the Direct Entry Masters program it would be greatly appreciated! I would of course be happy to answer any questions about the school or area for anyone who is new to Boston!

Thanks!

Hi, everyone!

I'm so excited to be applying for the Direct Entry program! The due date is tomorrow (yikes!), but before I clicked submit I wanted to ask:

does anyone know how Northeastern accept repeated prerequisite courses? I repeated a course, but not sure whether to calculate the first attempt and the second into my GPA or just the second.

Thanks so much!

Would anyone who was accepted or rejected to the Northeastern program be so kind as to post their GPA/GRE Scores? I'm not sure where I fit in... I get nervous because a lot of the people that post have awesome scores..

hey jessleigh- I also applied to direct entry at NU and have a friend who is currently in the program---from her stats, it really sounds like there is no set range of numbers to tell what is "good" and what's not. All I know in terms of numbers is that your GPA must be over 3.0. Other than that, I genuinely believe that NU takes a very holistic look at applicants. The director at the open house made it sound like they are more interested in your essay and getting to know you as an individual rather than scrutinizing over your GRE scores. (If it makes you feel better, my GRE scores are awful. If I do get in, it will NOT be in thanks to those) haha

I can't wait to hear back!

Thank you for your help!! Good luck with everything- I'll let you know if I hear anything! : )

I also applied for the direct entry program, and I haven't heard anything about interviews yet. I wonder when they'll contact us?

I heard that in mid- Feb. and into March they let us know- getting an interview is a good thing! Many people who get interviews get accepted. Good luck!!

Wow, for some reason I assumed all candidates were interviewed. That's good to know, thanks! Best of luck to you too!

I recently received a phone call for a phone interview for admission to NU's direct entry program. I was just wondering if anyone else has had an interview yet and if you have any tips?? I have never had a phone interview before and I am just nervous about what will happen. Thank you and good luck to everyone!!!

Ah, it just deleted what I wrote.

Anyways--- nice work on getting an interview! I would say: draw on your personal statement from your application AND walk around while having the interview---- in a quiet room of course. It just helps to literally be on one's toes.

Hopefully this will post.

I applied as well and am hoping I hear.... Anyone else hear already?

Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for the tips. I had my interview today I believe it went well we talked more about the program than actually being asked a lot of questions. The lady said that the acceptance letters will be going out in a couple of weeks if any of you are wondering. Good luck to all of you!!!
