Nov 27, '12Hi Emily,
Yes it is possible to just do the BSN portion. It's the first 15 months of the program Best of luck applying!
Jan 25, '13Hey everyone, I just applied to this program to start this fall 2013 cycle. I am currently in the process of almost completing all my prerequisites and finally completed the application. I am a male so my friend shave been battering me on this new path as usual. My overall GPA was a 3.3 and Pre Req GPA is a 3.6. I have been volunteering at Dana Farber for several months now. Three pretty good recommendations from my research assistant job as a psychiatric specialist, advisor and dana farber. I was wondering if everyone could elaborate on what they applied with and if i have a chance.
Feb 17, '13Yes, I would be very interested to know how often one needs to be at the Burlington campus...is there a convenient public transport way for that if you're in Boston?
Feb 25, '13Just thought I would update this since someone was kind enough to PM me the information I was asking for. It seems in your first term you have 1 day/week lab, 1 day/week clinical and 1-2 days/week of exams. The skills lab is on the Boston campus and the exams are at the Burlington one. Clinicals obviously, can be anywhere....you also have 5 classes first term but they are all online and self paced.
Second term you have 4 online classes
1 skills lab
1/2 days of exams ( Burlington)
total of 4/5 days commuting
1/2 exams ( Burlington)
Commuting: 3/4 days a week
Final term ( for BSN)
I'm sorry I don't know how many hours per day the lab skills are or how many per day the clinicals are yet, but if anyone knows and would like to share that would be great. If I find out that information I'll post here.
Feb 27, '13Thanks for the info EmmKay! Have you applied yet? I'm starting this May.. 3 days after my graduation from my undergrad . I'm trying to tie up all loose ends before I start! For those of you who started already last month, what should I be doing to prepare?? How are you liking the program? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Mar 5, '13Hey!
I'm in my second semester in the program. Labs are 3 hours a week, and each clinical is 6 hours/ week! If you have any other questions let me know!
Mar 9, '13hi Kcarm,
Thanks for your post! That really helps those of us hoping to apply...I'm also wondering does anyone take public transport into Burlington? I just can not afford to get a car the next few years and I'm wondering if I can do my clinicals without or car pool or something?
