Reverse outsourcing if you ask me.There are plenty of willing and able nurses in this country, maybe improved working conditions should be the "priority nursing diagnoses". JMHO

Specializes in Sub-Acute/Psychiatric/Detox.

Screw the Foreign Educated Nurses (they do help to solve the problem, but are not a primary resource), if they want they can get over here and make a deal before hand, not withstanding other transfer issues. How about maybe giving up to $45,000 to help students to QUIT their full-time job and actually go to nursing school during the day, and be able to focus more and not worry about working at Wal-Mart to pay bills??

Specializes in informatics.

Umm.. all these community colleges have huge wait lists with people trying to get into their colleges. Why not spend the money to expand departments so those in the US already have a chance.

Very good point, there are people out there who could have made very good nurses, however got fed up with being pushed around with games that are played with various nursing programs admissions, and or moved on to another profession, instead of being a nurse.
