Any Potential Regis College Fall 2012 Students?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hello, I applied early decision for Fall 2012 matriculation into the accelerated BSN/MSN program and heard Christmas eve that I was accepted. Are there any other members here that are attending the program as well?

I also attended the accepted student afternoon in January and did not get to talk to many people, I think most people there were a bit quiet as was I as well, however I would still like to get to know anyone that has applied and/or accepted.

I also applied for regular decision at Regis and am waiting on my letter!

I'm a little nervous because I hadn't gone far with my pre-requisites before applying (Ethics in college; Human Development at Regis over the January semester) but I am currently taking Chemistry, Microbiology and A/P I at Regis this semester. I took chemistry and genetics in college, but they didn't transfer as pre-reqs. I had a 3.2 GPA in my undergrad (Anthropology/Sociology) and a 311 for my GRE score, but with so many applicants I feel like I can't be too confident. I really do like the school and the program and I hope that I showed my enthusiasm during my interview.

I spoke to a friend who was waitlisted during early decision and you are NOT simply shuffled to the second round. The second round will produce it's own accepted, rejected and waitlisted students and then the waitlisted students from early decision and regular decision will be considered in a separate process. I hope that helps anyone with questions!

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted so far!

@annieob,

i think it looks like you are doing a great job. i wouldn't sell yourself short. when i posted before about the waitlist i didn't mean they were simply shuffled. i was saying they don't really go into the second round in terms of being "accepted or denied" but rather are looked at afterwards for the waistlist, also with any waitlisters from the second round. to clear up any confusion.

i bet we'll get our letters any day now :) congrats to everyone who has already been accepted and knows their plans. waiting is so stressful!

@futurewh

I hope I didn't come off as harsh! I was just sharing what I knew about the waitlist process from my friends experience. I was responding to the person who seemed unclear about what happened when you get waitlisted, because I know a lot of people are confused about it. I didn't see your response! It's one of those things that varies from school to school.

I'm crossing my fingers that when I get out of A+P today, there will be a letter waiting at home!! I don't know how much longer my nerves can take...

Thanks annieob, I appreciate the comment a lot actually.

I checked in with admissions today and you are correct. The waitlisted EA candidates are reviewed beginning in march and through august as spots become available. A frustrating situation because there is no specific time frame to expect a decision and if I was to get into somewhere lower on my list than Regis (of which most of my schools are) then I wouldn't really know what to do.

Anybody get a letter for Regular Decision? Nothing in the mail for me today :/

@annieob,

no worires you didnt! no letter here yet either, hopefully soon :)

Accepted for women's health :) does anyone know when we will hear back about financial aid? Don't worry Annie! I heard a lot of people get off the wait list

Congrats futurewh!! That's wonderful =)

I'm going to have my pre-req professors (from Regis) write a letter on my behalf and maaaybe rewrite my statement of intent. Any other thoughts on what to do in the meantime?

That's a great idea. Are you in the microbio evening class by any chance? I would just do everything I could to reiterate my interest- meet with the head of your program or the dean etc and just tell them how important it is to you. Also if you take on anything new- research volunteer work a nursing related job- write to them and let them know! Good luck :)

Futurewh - Congrats!! I hope you decide to come to Regis! We will be classmates! I actually met with someone in Financial Aid last week, and they said to have your FAFSA filled out asap, along with the Regis College Graduate Financial Aid application. We should receive information in June/July regarding financial aid packages and whatnot.

Congrats on being accepted to Regis! I just got my letter in the mail today :D I was so nervous because the letter was so light, but I got in!! Did either of you guys apply to any other schools? Now that I am accepted I am nervous to send in the deposit and say that I will go there because I did apply to MGH and Simmons and liked their programs too. What made you decide on going to Regis?
