  1. I am leaning towards Columbia. I think the experience of living in NYC and what I perceive to be a better educated (despite the same degree) will make the cost worth it. I go back and forth a lot too though thinking about the amount of loans I will have to pay back. I think I am going to try and decide within the next week. What about you?
  2. KKandes, Is the other school BC by any chance? I am making the same decision. It's so hard!
  3. Nope- only by mail :-/
  4. That's a great idea. Are you in the microbio evening class by any chance? I would just do everything I could to reiterate my interest- meet with the head of your program or the dean etc and just tell them how important it is to you. Also if you take on anything new- research volunteer work a nursing related job- write to them and let them know! Good luck :)
  5. Accepted for women's health :) does anyone know when we will hear back about financial aid? Don't worry Annie! I heard a lot of people get off the wait list
  6. Does anyone know when we'll find out about financial aid?
  7. @annieob, no worires you didnt! no letter here yet either, hopefully soon :)
  8. @annieob, i think it looks like you are doing a great job. i wouldn't sell yourself short. when i posted before about the waitlist i didn't mean they were simply shuffled. i was saying they don't really go into the second round in terms of being "accepted or denied" but rather are looked at afterwards for the waistlist, also with any waitlisters from the second round. to clear up any confusion. i bet we'll get our letters any day now :) congrats to everyone who has already been accepted and knows their plans. waiting is so stressful!
  9. @nurseywannabe having a child does not make you black a sleep! i'm amazed and impressed you are taking on such a time intensive program and pursuing a new career. obviously great for you and your child. congrats! i also think you should come for drinks on visiting day. a lot of current students will be there and while roommates will definitely be a topic, i think there will be much more to discuss as well! does anyone know how possible it is to take a year of after the bns portion, work in an icu and then try to re-enroll in anesthesia? the more i hear about anesthesia the more i wish i pursued it. anyways thoughts are appreciated!
  10. @heramay22 keep your head up! waitlisted is better than being deffered. it means that you are not rejected (while if you were deferred to round 2- they would consider straight out rejecting you). waiting for a long time is definitely frustrating. i agree with the others in that contacting admissions (sending them anything additional- new pre-reqs completed, new statement of intent or additional info on why you are so sure regis is right for you, asking what you can do) those are all things that are for sure helpful and show how serious you are. i'm obviously not on an admissions commitee but i've seen a number of people do it and have it work for undergrad. when people see how bad you want something- they want to give it to you! good luck
  11. Regis regular round decision was supposed to go out at the beginning of this week by regular mail. Mgh predicts the end of next week by regular mail. Good luck all!
