Ridiculous treatmen at MBON

U.S.A. Maryland

First off they have the RUDEST operators on the face of the EARTH.

I was calling because I still don't have my license ## ( although my friend who took NCLEX 2 days after me has hers)....and anyway I can't start to work until I have it.

So first the operator tries to tell me I can't work with out it ( duh! that's why I am calling) and THEN proceeds to tell me that she won't transfer me to the correct person to ask because I am being to impatient. I'm sorry- a simple inquiry into a license that I EARNED is not " too impatient" on my end and all I did was ask to speak to the person who would be able to help me.

Then after I proceed to tell her that I would like to speak to said person anyway regarding MY LICENSE she tells me " You don't HAVE ONE YET" and then HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!!!!!

I just sat there staring at the phone FOR-EVER.

Good grief what a way to treat the nurses they claim they so DESPERATELY NEED.

UK student I have done that. What it says is "pending" IS the background check...however they already ran a background check on me in March of 2007 for CNA and they said as long as you had one done after Jan 2, 2007 you didn't have to do it again. They also said to attach a note about it with my application..which I also did. So they already HAVE my background information..but for some reason it is still stated as " pending" on the MBON website.

So I emailed the woman in charge of licensing. Hopefully she will get back to me!

Specializes in SICU.

If you don't get a reply on Monday morning. Take the day and go there. Take some reading material and a drink and be prepared to spend some time. But by showing them that you had a background check done this year for your CNA you can hopefully walk out with your license.

I am going to go down there Wednesday morning. I couldn't go today and cannot go tomorrow.

No response to my email and I was able to leave a voicemail at 9 this morning. No change in my status.

I'm thinking at this point that the only way it will be fixed IS me going down there.

OK I am back from being there in person. I got there the second they opened and I was the first person in the door- yay!

Anyway I had to fill out this long paper about the problems I was having and then the secretary took it back to see if someone could see me. She came back about 5 mins later and told me that the lady she talked to " saw what the problem was and is going to fix it and you should have your license by the end of the week".

Well I wanted to speak to this person IN person lol so I could make sure that this was the case....so the secretary got her on the phone with me. She promised me she saw what the problem is and that she was working to fix it right then and there and that I should have a license# up on MBON by the end of the day.

So we shall see.

At least this time they were really nice to me:)

Update: YAY! I have my license!!!!!!!!!!
