U.S.A. Maryland

Hi all!

I'm an international graduate and going to start a FNP programme soon in Maryland. I've never lived and worked in the states but I do hold a NY RN license. (I took Nclex)

After gettig a SSN, I'm going to apply for endorsement. Do you know how long it takes approximately to get a temporary RN license?(I will move to Baltimore soon so I can visit the MDBON office easily) I really need this asap to start clinicals at school.

If there's anyome who already went thorugh the online endorsement process, please let me know!!

Thank you. :)))

I would start ASAP. The MBON is notoriously slow. I would make an in person visit ASAP to get started.

Yes, I second Lev

I went through an online endorsement from PA to MD. After I applied online, my temp license was assigned within 48 hours. My permanent license however was assigned a few days before the 60 day period ended.

Wow, it was that easy for you? Despite my active ME license, due to my PA residence they wouldn't even talk to me until I was fingerprinted for MD. Good for you! I'm glad mine is over and done, it was a royal headache!

hi INDNurse88,

I am moving to baltimore and applied for maryland RN license by endoesement and a temporary license. I have a NJ RN license in good standing. I cannot find out the status of my application. I have checked the Marylands board site daily and cannot find out my status. I applied on February 25, 2020. They took my full payment at that time. I completed the background check and had my fingerprints done and sent to the correct place through a company recommended by the board employee when I visited the maryland board of nursing facility in February. I don't know where to turn to get information regarding at least my temporary license so I can start applying for a position. it seems you got your temporary license quickly. how and where did you find this information? how do I find the status of my application? It only says that my application is complete and I see only a transaction number not any license number. thanks for any help you can give me

You can go to the MBON website and click on "look up license". This is how I found out about my active license
