CCBC - N/W Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Maryland

Hello Everyone,

I am applying to the CCBC Essex nights and weekends program for the fall of 2012. I am hearing all the stories about those either getting in or rejected for the Spring day program. Wanted to maybe start a thread for those whole applying with me and maybe relate to my anxiety! LOL

Congrats on getting notified and accepted. At least one wait is over. I have applied to CCBC,BCCC,Coppin and Carroll. However CCBC is my second choice. The waiting is killing me. I don't expect to attend Coppin only if everyone else says no will I utilize that ace in the hole. I just applied there to take the TEAS there is was only $50 instead of $75 and I didnt have to drive far.

I wish everyone luck and speedy application statues.

Thanks. It is a relief to have at least one confirmation. So when do you find out about the others? I hated those damn teas. Think it's crap we need to take it. So what is your first choice?

My first choice is BCCC, only because they have a high Nursing Boards success rate. They test you every semester and you have to do 100 questions a day once you finish to prepare you for the test. They give you alot of tools to pass the first time. BCCC information should be out no later than March 26th. Carroll was suppose to notify students 3/15 however an email just went out stating that would be delayed until April 9th. CCBC as you know is May and Coppin you have until the end of May to TEAS and qualify so that could be until the middle of summer (but I don't really want to go there until I do the AA to BSN. I just applied to get my foot in so when I do my AA to BSN I don't have alot of running around to do and there TEAS scores last for 5 years.

Well I wish you the best on all your applications. You'll definitely have to keep us notified whenever you find out. Hopefully you'll hear about BCCC really soon. I know this wait for CCBC is killing me. That's great that the TEAS for cop pin is good for 5 years. Did you do well on those?

I just started volunteering at shock trauma this week and loved it. All I could do is watch the nurses at work and was in awe. And I kept thinking to myself that I am going to be doing this very soon!! Damn that's exciting!

I actually failed one of the portions required for Coppin. That day I took it was very stress filled and I should have rescheduled. I was completely unfocused. I will retake if I need to but I passed the necessary part for CCBC

Man I typed a response and it got deleted. So here goes again. I was saying that I hated those damn teas. I think it's ridiculous that we have to take them. I mean we have to take the classes that are covered by the teas as pre reqs so our grades should speak for themselves. But I guess that's just another way to weed out people considering CCBC gets over 500 applicants. I just can't stand standardized tests.

I just hope these next 8 weeks go by fast. At least for you, you'll get responses from your schools throughout March and April which will help a lot. I know finding out about Harford was a huge relief for me. Hopefully you'll be able to get into your first choice. Fingers crossed!!!!

Hey I applied for Catonsville day and I still don't have anything from mailbox... They did say they got it when I called them... I hope to see you all accepted!

@nps07...so did you receive your postcard. I am sure you'll be receiving it soon. I heard the Catonsville program is really good. I have a friend in there now that absolutely loves the instructors! Good luck to you and to all of us waiting. Almost there...not really but soon! LOL

Hey Greg.. It's been a while since I've logged onto allnurses. Congratulations on getting accepted into Harford! :cheers:Hopefully CCBC will pull through for you :0)

Were we supposed to get anything else in the mail? I never did...I only got the white postcard in the beginning telling me that they had not received my TEAS test score... when they had. They said they had everything that they needed.

Have you or anyone heard anything more from the school?

The only thing we'll receive is the post card. I had the same problem - my card said they hadn't received my TEAS score yet it was still on file from last year, so Lois told me everything was okay. Now we just wait it out until May.

Thanks! I thought so ... just wanted to make sure. I can't believe that it really takes that long. May seems so far away

I can't believe that it really takes that long.

It was super long last year! I applied last spring and was rejected. To give you a time frame of how long it could potentially be... I saw my status change on SIMON on the night of a final, so that was around what, the second week of May? But... that was also when they threw out that mandate about in-county tuition so from what I heard, they had to stop the review process altogether, not to mention they updated their computer systems or something, so it took awhile plus there were a ton of glitches for them. Also, keep in mind there are generally hundreds of applications to review! When I applied last year, there were around 500 people who applied between the two campuses. It's absolutely nuts! I can't even imagine the amount of stress they're under with that many applications!
