Anne Arundel CC-In county residence?

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hey all!

I'm new to the site and have a question regarding Anne Arundel Community College. I have read that its pretty much impossible to get into their nursing program unless you reside in that county. My situation is that I currently live on the west coast but will be relocating to Maryland next June, as my husband is in the military and has orders to Fort Meade. I know I'll have to apply to their fall program sooner than that, but I was wondering if I even have a chance at getting in considering I don't even live there yet, although I plan to. Does anyone else have experience with this or something similar? I guess I don't even know if I should bother applying.

I'd say call them. I'm looking at University of Maryland and I looked at their form that proves you are a state resident and it seems like you have had to live in the state for 3 years in order to be considered in-state. Obviously the address you give when you apply won't be in Maryland so you'd have to tell them your situation and ask about it. They may end up telling you that you may have to re-apply the following year.

I think for AACC, you have to be a county resident for at least 3 months. But maybe you should e-mail the advisors about your concerns. If its possible, maybe you could apply for the spring semester?

Hi MiiszKimberly, I received your visitor message but I don't have 15 posts so I can't answer you back! My email is [email protected] if you want any info on the SDC program.

Yeah, I'll have to give them a call. I was just posting here to see if anyone had been through something similar. Thanks for the help, everyone!

My husband is active duty military and I was given immediate in-county status. I am currently in my 3rd semester in the RN program at AACC. Good luck!

I think LoveDaughters is on the right track, if you are military you are given in county tuition rates, How did it all go, I just applied :)

Hello,

I am applying for AACC's RN program. Here is a link to the residency petition. It claims that you just need to be a resident for 3 months prior to the semester starting.
