Starting ADN, with my wife

Just curious if any other guy out there has gone through a program with a significant other? Any challenges or difficulties? Classes seem to be only about 10% guys on average. My wife hasn't mentioned it much, but I know she thinks about it. We have a great relationship, just want to go into this fully prepared!

I know this woman who went through it with her husband. They are still married. I would think that would be the best way to do it. You both understand what the other is going through and you are going through it together. Good luck.

XY I wish you well in your endeavors with your wife. My hubby starts his ADN in the Fall and I have been a nurse for 30 yrs this year! Amazing that I am only 30 hahahahaha Oh I lie! :lol2:

I am looking forward to being my hubby's home tutor and he is so ruddy excited.

He has resigned from his job and will be working PRN with me at Hospice as a Certified Nursing Assistant to get some more medical type practice and hands on stuff.

Do let us know how things go with you and your wife. I wish your wife every success as you. :)

I know a couple that went through PA school together. They are still happily married.

You two will have an advantage, since two heads with the same material can be better than one! And there'll be no arguments over why there's no time together since you'll both be studying together. A few of my classmates were on the verge of divorce because one did not get to tend to the other's needs. If you're both going, you're both on the same page. Great! Good luck!

This is what we've been thinking! A full time study partner, AND a full time study break partner!! LOL!!;)

Yes I believe so hahahaha CNA is the way to go for sure. Hubby had to do this before the ADN. He really enjoyed doing the course. Anything to get out of management he says LOL.

As for the 30th!! Heck yeah every year a cake with 30 candles works for me LOL;)

I have just finished up my first year of nursing school. In our school we have two couples going through the program and I am happy to report they are still going strong. I think it's great because the only people who understand what nursing school is like are the people going through it with you. Good luck to both you and your wife.

My wife and I met in training and graduated together in '88, married the year after and are still together 18 years later.

Our daughter (middle child) will be going into nursing in a couple of years.

I think going to the program with your spouse is a great thing. You have a study buddy with you!
