I've been at my new job for two weeks. I HATE it. The place smells (and those of you who 'know' me know how I despise smelly nursing homes) no matter how many times I ask the housekeeping staff to clean it still smells. I was promised a lap top..what a joke...there is nothing electronic except the weights....

We had a regional nurse who lasted less than 2 weeks before she gave up.

I am actively looking for another position. IF I get, do y'all think I would be obligated to give a 4 week notice? I'm all about being professional, but I'm also all about being told the truth which isn't what I got during my interview.

Your the one we com e to for advice like this :geek: Yes and no on the 4 weeks. If it will burn a bridge that you need, then I say yes, give the 4 weeks. If you can get away with less, go for it. We've went thru so many DONs in the last few years, many didn't give the 4 weeks or even two. It is amazing how things have changed and these people land back on their feet.

CCM, sorry to hear you're looking to move on. Like others, I looked forward to your sage advice.

I would just hate for someone to somehow cause you some type of professional retaliatory negativity, so I'd say for you to travel the high road.

I once said it before, I would have loooovvved to have been working where you were DON.

Wishing you all the best.

I hope things are getting better for you. 4 weeks sounds appropriate unless you really can't stand it.

I sometimes spout off. I would give notice now that I'm at the end of my 3rd week.

They told me a bunch of lies during my interview....the place is top heavy with corporate types but the staff is really looking for some direction. Time will tell
