LPN Question.

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello,

I am currently a nursing student in a BSN program with five semesters of schooling left with a LPN question. Is it true that at a certain point I will be able to take the LPN licensing exam w/o actually attending a LPN licensing program?

I work for a plumbing company atm and I'd love to find employment with a hospital but i cannot afford to take a pay cut. A LPN position's salary would be less then what I currently make but I would be able to support my family. Any suggestions on what I should do?

I don't know how that works, I have read more than once that a nursing student has taken the NCLEX-PN and is working as an LPN while finishing school. Somebody here will know. Welcome to all nurses. Good Luck.

I would ask you school counselor and they maybe able to tell you. If you are in a private school talk to the DON and they will be able to answer your????? The school has to submit papers to the BON and they have to issue you an ATT(authorization to test), so someone at the school should know.

I was told by my professor that you must now attend an LPN program in order to obtain your LPN license. This is as of last June according to my professor.

Some schools will allow you to do this after the first year of nursing studies. Some won't allow it. A good person to ask would be your nursing school's director or dean.
