Anyone ever "lost" credits at a community college?

:monkeydance:I have been going back to school a little at a time. So long, that they are telling me I have lost some of my credits because of lenth of time, etc. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, did you get them back and how did you do it? I feel as though I am up against a big brick wall here with the state community college!!!! UGH!

You pay out the bum for that, though.

Me, coming out of a community college program--tuition, $115 per credit hour. If I actually lived in the county in which the community college was situated, I'd only pay $85 per credit hour.

LPN on my floor, going to a private college that takes care of all the hassle--tuition $350 per credit hour.

CA on my floor, going to a different private college, as there was no waiting list--$325 per credit hour.

If you are not careful, you'll pay 3x the total amount of your college tuition on that convenience of not having to worry about your credits expiring.

Just an FYI!

Great point. The nursing program folks at the CC here(in Va) are- lets just say-not helpful, sometimes, even hostile. I guess the private school folks have to be nice. Thanks again. It offers another aspect.

My instructor had the same problem she had already graduated from a private university with a BSN at the same time taking the pre-reqs for ARNP school at a different college. Then life happened and it took ker ten years to go back to get her ARNP and the public university wouldn't accept her credits so she applied back at the private university to get her ARNP. One class as of right now it is $3000 credit hr. It's a historic building/museum/school but I would have personally retook the pre-req at the public college for $200 credit hr.

Do you suggest a web site for CLEP info? BTY, did I mention that I fell and broke my fifth metarsal, left foot, and right patella? Right now the computer is my lifelline.

Another thing I found when researching for an RN program that will meet my needs---some colleges require you to take the Dosage Calculation within 2 yrs of the Nursing program

I'm finding I have to redo this along with many of my sciences, since they are all abt. 20 yrs old.....OMG...this is going to take awhile, hope I don't lose something else in the process of getting these completed....lol

Because of this school's nursing program policies, I had to retake A & P since it had been greater than 5 years.
