Platt college in Oklahoma has a LPN to RN program that is completed in 12 months day class, and 22 months evening class. Both programs allow you to complete your prereq's cocurrently and still finish the program in 12-22 months. The cost is $21,000. I plan on relocating there this summer so that I may attend the August class. By the way I've looked into some apt. there and a 2BR runs between$300-$499. They also have other campuses in San deigo,CA Tulsa,OK Dallas,TX and afew others. If you go to a search engine and type in platt college it will bring up the different campses.

*** Southwest Technical College in Wisconsin will allow you to complete LPN to RN in 9 months. Two four month semesters and a month off over Christmas / New years. For residents the cost is around $3000, don't know about non-residents. No waiting list for LPNs. Starts every August.

Be careful with the Platt program if you are considering going on for BSN or MSN. They are NOT NLN accredited, even if they tell you that. If you go to the Oklahoma forum you will see a few different threads on this school.

Hi, I'm new here! I am taking nursing pre reqs right now in northern California. If I don't get into the program because there are so many students waiting to get in, I will have to wait until next year. I am considering other fast track colleges in northern CAlif. around the Sacramento area. Any ideas on good schools in that region? Anyone heard of Unitech College? I read here that LanaBanana says that even if a school says it is accredited they may not be. That's scary! How do you know for sure? Other than NIH, what other accreditation should the schools have? Thanks! Sorry for all the questions.

Go to the National League of Nursing accreditation website. http://www.nlnac.org/Forms/directory_search.htm

If the school is legitimately accredited through them it will be listed on here. There are other accrediting agencies for BSN and higher programs.

Thanks Lana, I will check that out.
