i'm crying right now.....i was under the impression that i would start my lpn program this fall and i contacted the nursing dept. to get some info on how to prepare etc. well, they emailed me back saying that they returned my application last november after supposedly getting no responses to emails or telephone calls. well, i never got any phone calls or emails, and certainly not my application. i am not in the fall class and have resubmit my application. i might not get in until 2010 now. i'm so angry and upset i could scream. they had a change of nursing instructors and the one i talked to last year and told me i'd be "on their list" for two years no longer works there.

so now i'm here, back to square one. i'm so upset, i don't know what to do anymore. :banghead::sniff::cry::(

oh my gosh!!! I really am so sorry!The school I am going to had the TEAS test in order to eliminate the tough,long waiting list that all of the areas other schools have. I did the whole application process after i took this test and got a minimum percentile in everysection. Does your school do this? I just cant beleive they would just lose track of your application. Did you ever recieve you acceptance letter? And did you tell them what address and phone number were correct in case they were calling the wrong house? Theres so many questions I have i want to protest for you but i mean will really , it do any good, probably not, im sorry to say. I feel aweful, especially if you have already went out and bought supplies and cleared your schedule to go. Maybe you should ask if there are other schools in the area or if any spots open on the first day(i.e. someone else didnt put a deposit on and didnt show up). I know you wont have the books but i dont know- i just really cant imagine this ever happening and I am so sorry it happenned to you. Id be devastated too!:sniff:

Victoria, no, the school does not have any tests to weed out candidates for the program. I passed all my pre-reqs with As and when I applied last spring (2007), I received a call from the nursing coordinator that I was accepted and was offered a spot for the fall quarter of 2007. I had to turn it down as I was pregnant and my husband deployed, and I was told that I would remain active for two years. This is also what the schools website and LPN application states - applicants remain active for two years, and only after those two years do you have to re-apply. I also have a welcome letter that was sent to me in November, the same month during which they allegedly returned my application because I wouldn't respond to emails and phone calls. This is absolute BS - I check my email constantly and a was stuck to the phone because I didn't want to miss any phone calls from my husband. Somebody at that school dropped the ball and now they are coming up with excuses. They had a complete change in staff in the nursing dept. and I imagine something got messed up during that change. If the lady at the nursing dept. keeps telling me that they emailed me etc. I'm going to talk to the Dean and file a complain. Hate to start school like that, but I did nothing wrong, and their own rules state that applicants stay active for two years.

I'm going there first thing tomorrow morning, so wish me luck. :devil:

I am so sorry to hear that. But dont let this get u down....please dont give up... just take classes towards your RN...this way its not a wasted semester gone by.

:yeah:GOOD LUCK!!!! ITS GREAT TO STAND UP AND IT DOESNT HURT TO TRY!

ONG...My hearts goes out to you...You are my my prayers...Don't give up...

I would definately go to the school and talk to who ever is in charge. I hope that everything goes well.....Let us know.....Good Luck

Thank you all for your wonderful support. It helps to come here to vent. I've been so upset all day and my poor husband has had to listen to me whine on for hours. I've been working to get into this program and I was heartbroken last year when I had to turn down the fall 2007 date because of my pregnancy and hubby's deployment. My only comfort was that I could just do it the following year, and now this. How can this new nursing coordinator claim she called me and emailed me and got no response? This is a flat out lie or she got my email and phone number wrong. This all supposedly happened in Nov. 2007, and I have an acceptance letter dated NOvember 13, 2007, signed by the former nursing coordinator, who no longer works at the college. When I mentioned it to the new coordinator on the phone, all she could say was that "she (the former coordinator) doesn't work here anymore". That should NOT make a difference, because at the time she sent me my acceptance letter, she was still an employee of that college. They had BETTER straighten this out, I did nothing wrong here. I played by all the rules and they goofed up big time. I'm also worried if they did indeed return my application and I obviously never got it, where did it end up?? There is sensitive information in that application, like DOB, SSN, maiden name, etc. They will have to explain this to me.

I hope the acceptance letter - which I thankfully saved - will prove to them that I was rightfully under the impression that I was still actively on their list. Otherwise it will be just their word against mine, and I'm afraid I might lose that battle.

I'm still reeling and probably won't get much sleep tonight. They open up at 8 a.m. and I'll be there waiting for them. :argue:

Update: went in this morning with a new application and supporting docs and spoke with the new nursing coordinator in person. I managed to stay very calm and polite, she seemed a bit defensive. I explained her everything and listened to her side of the story. I really don't believe now that they lied or did anything wrong, I think it was just a communication problem on both sides and somehow her messages to me did not get through. I wonder if her emails she sent me earlier this year ended up in my spam folder. Anyways, she accepted my application on the spot and put me on top of the applicant list again. She still cautioned me not to get my hopes up for fall 2008, because that course was booked. Not two hours after I left I got a call from her that several students canceled and that there were now several openings for fall 2008. So I got in - AGAIN!! I'm going to make darn sure that I'm not somehow messing up this time around. I really pretty much kissed my fall 2008 start date goodbye and was already looking into taking other pre-reqs for RN down the road. But thankfully, it all worked out as originally planned.

Thanks for all the positive support and good vibes here! I'm just so tickled to know that I can go ahead as planned.

I am so excited for you......Good luck:yeah::yeah::clpty:
