I feel like my instructor is not doing her job when listetning to other studetns talk about their clinical experiences. What should I do??????? Opinons, advice, please!!!

While frustrating to you, I did not read anything in your post that was urgent enough to jeopardize your standing in the program over. Discuss your concerns with the individual if you are assured she will not retaliate, otherwise press on.

You're still in school. You have to put up with behaviors you don't like while in school, and just suck it up in order to get through it--if you want a license. If you report the instructor she will know it was you and she will cause you problems. Don't be one of those people who starts reporting people early in your career. You will get a bad rep right off the bat, and how would you like it if co-workers report you when you are a new nurse, which will happen, especially if you are a complainer who feels entitled to certain things.

Yeah, I see were you are coming from Caliotter3. I thought the same thing, dont bother & just get through the program. I just feel like Im paying all this money & I have this instructor who cant be bothered. Im not there for the fun of it & Im there to learn & I feel like she is not taking this seriously.

Proprietary schools are not known for the high quality of their teaching or instructor performance on the job. Just get the best you can from it so you can sit for the NCLEX. Your real education comes on your first job.

My advice is to keep your mouth shut and count your days remaining until graduation. Schools tend to side with the instructor who receives the complaint. After all, students are very replaceable, but instructors are more difficult to replace due to various factors. Good luck to you!

Also agreed. I have a friend I'm in school with who complained about an instructor in the very beginning. :smackingf Now she is consistantly tested by all the instructors we go to clinicals with. She's very smart and has a lot going for her. I see a lot of things I don't agree with at times... the best thing to do is grit your teeth and keep your mouth shut.... If you wanna sit for boards that is. Vent at home, vent with non-nursing-school friends... and whatever you do... DON'T VENT TO NURSING SCHOOL FRIENDS... you'd be surprised how quickly it'll come back to haunt you. I'm nice to my "friends" at school, but there are only 2 that I really trust and care about. I talk to everyone, but I don't vent at school. I come home and I vent at my boyfriend, and my mom, and my cousins, but never at school. Do what you will, but this is my :twocents:
