It has been a long time coming, I finally got into a LPN school!!!!! Literally Friday, as well as the same day I started a new job and decided to quit the nursing school hunt... LOL I'm so nervous, I'm not sure what to expect, my first day is 12/1! Anyone else starting school soon?

:nailbiting: Got my registration packet in the mail last week. I submitted and paid for my background check, and today went and registered for the classes, got my student ID, and bought my book bundle. I am nervous, but feel as prepared as I can be. One day at a time I guess.

Nice! I just signed my tuition contract and put my deposit down to hold my seat, orientation info should be coming in the mail, I did get fitted for my uniforms :) Which made it exciting, when do you start?

Orientation is Wed. Jan 7.

How's everyone doing?!?!?!?! :)

I am almost done with term 1 at my LPN school. I am still not used to the workload and multiple exams every week. Realizing that its almost impossible to have As in all classes, and being a perfectionist it kind of hurts. haha BUT at the same time realized that your grades are not that important. As long as you are positive, build good relationship with your classmates and teachers, never skip classes and always study things in advance you will be just fine. :)

Passed my required med calc quiz today. Finally had a few moments where I didn't feel like a total idiot in class. The most shocking thing about today is that we're only two weeks in and already lost a few people. I knew there would be attrition, I just didn't expect it to start so soon.

Congrats! I started August 27th, I graduate June 18th, and I have a love/hate relationship with nursing school, LOL

It's great and I'm enjoying it but it's very difficult and stressful. Are you in a certificate program or degree?

Congrats! I passed my required med calculations test today too, and I was terrified that I would not. We also lost a few people along the way, one girl actually left after the first day...We have lost 5 out of 58 students. I'm sweating, lol, but I wanna be standing at the finish line this June

Hiiiii !!! It is going well so far! I'm already done pn 101 and nutrition were just about to start a&p, I'm actually looking forward to it, so far I'm passing all my test and quizzes so let's hope I can keep it up! How are you doing?

Is anyone else starting to panic yet at the sheer volume of stuff we need to be able to know SO quickly?! I may be building up my upcoming head-to-toe assessment check-off into more than it is in my head, but I'm nervous I won't be able to pass it. I'm good at book-learnin' but having to get up and do stuff while I walk around and remember all the cranial nerves and how to test them, all the different auscultatory points for heart, breath, and bowel, palpate 10 pulse points.......:nailbiting: Let's just say I feel inadequate to the task. And yet I know lots of people who have passed this and much harder. Meh. I can't get my head around it and working full time isn't helping. But I have to figure it out and get it done, so.....

Just breath, take your time and I know easier said than done but, try to not get too worked up.

Red,

Yes that is how I'm feeling, and I'm half way thru! Tests are no problem but remembering everything you need to as you enter a pt room is scary. It's tough but just breathe, and supplement your lab time with research at home for procedures. You tube has some excellent videos going over some procedures, such as giving meds via g tube, all the steps involved in inserting a foley cath, etc!! Also, as stupid as it may sound, "practice" going into a pt room and doing a head to toe assessment. It'll help with remembering everything

HUGS Good luck!
