I also know a couple people who graduated from Sumners and got jobs at the hospital despite their limited clinical rotations at school :)

LPN program at SumnerCollege Portland, OR

I did. I chose Sumners over other schools because i had many friends who are already working nurses, and they have suggests it to me. Sumners is nationally accredited. They also have RN program and contract with other schools if you want to get BSN later.Basically there are more options available to you after you graduate from Sumners vs other trade schools. Thats one of the reason i decided to go with LPN program vs RN. I can work as LPN and work towards RN at the same time, and not worry about being broke all the time. I need to survive this year first though. Do you have all your prerequisites done already?

    Community college vs. Sumner College

oh wow. Sorry you had bad experience with them. I am enrolled in their LPN program with them right now,2nd term currently, and i only have good things to say about them. They have amazing clinicals instructors who really invest their time and help you out. So far im loving it. The only down side would be the fact that they do change teachers quite often so you have to adjust and relearn teachers teaching styles. Im definitely planning on going further, and enrolling in their bridge RN program.

LPN program at SumnerCollege Portland, OR

Hello. I did enroll with Sumners, and im in my 2nd term right now. We already started clinicals. I do like it a lot. Like everyone else says. It is hard, and you do have to get used to the workload but its doable. I have an amazing clinicals instructor which is a great help since i had 0 healthcare experience. And to my surprise im doing pretty well in all classes. My biggest advice is to avoid procrastination. I have an exam on tuesday on 9 chapters, and haven't even started studying for it. Anyways, Sumner is awesome. They are currently working on a bridge RN program which means you can continue your education after you get your LPN. Im definitely planning on it. I've talked to many student who graduated from sumners, and already have their BSN. There are a lot of skepticism when it comes to profit school but in reality your employer wont care which school you went to. All they need is your license.

    Sumner College LPN Transferability

You can still get your RN through sumners. Plus sumners has an agreement with online RN to BSN. Other route is to take all the needed prereq. work as RN or LPN than then apply to BSN program.

Finally got into a LPN School

I am almost done with term 1 at my LPN school. I am still not used to the workload and multiple exams every week. Realizing that its almost impossible to have As in all classes, and being a perfectionist it kind of hurts. haha BUT at the same time realized that your grades are not that important. As long as you are positive, build good relationship with your classmates and teachers, never skip classes and always study things in advance you will be just fine. :)

Starting LPN school as well Dec 1st at Sumners College. Im nervous but excited at the same time. It took me a while to decide whether to go for RN program or LPN. Then finally decided to enroll into LPN. Figured it would be better for me first get some experience as LPN. We should keep each other updated on how it's going. Good luck to you, and God bless.
