How far does everyone drive? My school is an hour away from my house!

My school was about 10-15 mins away from me driving but most days, I would catch the train there to save gas and money for parking since my school was a block away from the trains, buses and trolleys.

Lucky! My hour drive consists of trees and farm land! Lol no trains or cities

My school was 45 minutes to 1 hour away depending on traffic. Throw in winter weather and we are talking 2+ hours. Then there were clinicals which were 90 minutes to 2 hours away, one way.

Wow! That sounds like my drive. I'm so nervous driving that far I don't like to be late to anything and my school is strict about that! This winter is going to be hard on me,

It is doable. Always give yourself plenty of time to get there. What helped me a lot was telling myself I wasn't going to be doing that commute forever even though it sometimes felt that way, lol.

Also, know what your school policy is on weather cancellations...how do they announce it? Website, hotline? Whatever it is, know it and check it before you begin a commute only to find out class/clinicals were cancelled.

I drove 95 miles one-way (190 miles round trip) to school five days per week when I attended an LVN program in southern California. Since the school was in the greater Los Angeles area, I dealt with heavy freeway traffic on most days.

On days when the traffic was light or minimal, the commute would take about 90 minutes each way.

Over half of my clinical sites were 1 hr plus from home. 3 days each week. Plus I had to drop my son off at Childcare at 4:15am. I got used to it. I also carpooled with classmates. We met at our school. I just graduated. You can do it!

I've got a 65 mile drive one way- about 90 minutes on bad day, just over an hour on a good day- it'll be worth it in the end!!!
