Hello!

I would like to become a Registered Nurse.I know the best way would be becoming an LVN first then to RN .Now I live in Los Angeles and not sure which school I should attend.I don't want to go to Community College simply because it will take a longer time. Can anyone here recommend a great private LVN nursing school ? Or any comments on EVEREST COLLEGE ?I would really appreciate any feedback! Thank You ! Have a great weekend! =)

I am currently in a LVN Program here in Altadena, Ca. The name of the school is Integrity College of Health, I have checked out a lot of LVN private schools and I think I went to the right one. I think they have the best program with the best schedule ( Wed. night, Sat. And Sun. ) for people who work full-time and we have such wonderful instructors. Plus they also charge less than the other private shools. The program is only for 13 1/2 months, their website is www.integritycollegeofhealth.com. Their next class will start early next year, so, they're accepting inquiries right now for the next class. Check it out, you won't regret it.

check the web site for the board of vocational nursing in los angeles. there is a listing of every lvn program in los angeles as well as california. FYI vn programs are only 1 year long. why pay 25k when you can recieve money and go for free at community colleges or hospital / community based programs. you will never know if there is a waiting list unless you apply. all programs claims to have a waiting list to keep up with the rest. trust, over 75% of available programs are available, and if you score high on entrance exams then you are a sure in.

Next Question: are there any cheaper LVN schools that are accredited out there

check west valley occupational center( Woodland hills)and north valley occupational center (mission hills) . They charge only $2,000.00. Also Simi valley career institute charges $5000.00.

Their programs are great and importantly the Nclex passing rate is 100%.

casa Loma and other colleges are 60 to 80 % passing rate.

check it out and good luck!!

I know this is late. However Downey Adult School is only $5000. and a great program (so I hear).

Specializes in everything BUT O.R.!!!!.

Hi all;

I am a graduate of North Valley Occupation Center's LVN program back in 1981 and it was a TERRIFIC program. We trained in everythhing - from Central Supply learning how to make sterile packs for surgery to actually observing a patient in the OR to Labor and Delivery and ER. I very tough program but what a wonderfu learning experience. Probably the most inexpensive of all the "private" LVN school in the LA area. Good luck!

I spent almost 2 years at community college for my prerequisites and i gave up so i decide to go to private collage. I took the entrance exam for LVN at west coast ultra sound institute I pass with 99% score. I apply for private student loan at SALLIE MAE but they wont approve my application. now am stacked because of my credit score(i have 693)....so i need a co-signer for $7800 dollars can someone help me?

i have heard that several community colleges in the la area have gone to a lottery system and done away with their waiting lists. have you applied to any of these programs? i also know of one rural hospital in southern california that will pay for a students nursing school tuition and priority admission to the local community college nursing program if the student is a hospital employee. and, i don't think they are the only rural hospital in california that does this. you can see the list of rn programs in california here: http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/programs.shtml, but you need to contact them each to find these programs.

are you looking for someone to be a co-signer on a loan for you knowing nothing about you?

Hi Enzosine, I'm thinking you probably have finished your program by now. How did you like it? And have you taken your nclex exams? Just wondering, as I'm really looking into going to this school.. Thanks!

Hi, I graduated form this nursing school, Integrity College of Health. It is definitely a great school. I had a great experience there and I passed the Nclex on the first try. I recommend this school to anyone in the LA area. The instructors, textbooks and exams are good. If you study everyday, you will do fine. I loved the weekend and evening format. This was good for me because I work full-time and have a family. I was in the first graduating class. The price of the school was reasonable too. I made many wonderful friends for life there. Good Luck :yeah::redbeathe

Yes. Sorry I haven't posted anything here but yes, I did graduate from Integrity College of Health in August of 2008. I got my permit to test in October and was able to make an appointment to take the test right away. I didn't even review anymore because I started another job and moved over here in OC, I didn't have time to study, I thought I had good instructors and hoped that I learned all I needed to learn to pass the NCLEX and I did on my first try. Like I said, I went to the right school.

How much is tuition at integrity college of health?
