will I be a CNA at some point?

Nurses LPN/LVN

I want one of the big hospitals in the area to fund my RN, but most don't hire LPN's (the one I want to work at in particular does not). They do however hire CNA's so many of the girls I know in NS are working as CNA's in order to have help with school.

I just started LPN school last week, and I was wondering if at some point I'd be able to take a test or something in order to be a CNA? It seems like once I do my LTC clinicals, I'll have had the same/more training than a CNA right? anyone know? I know it's sort of backwards as most of my class are already CNA's.

It depends on the school; some allow you to challenge or sit for the CNA while for others, it is not a requirement. You should ask the school as well as the BON what to do.
