School accredition

So the school I went to is not accredited but I still took the NCLEX. Is there a website that shows you which LVN or RN schools are accredited? Should I bother applying to jobs as an LVN or renewing the license this year since it expires?

Practical and vocational nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

If you are a licensed nurse (finished school & passed the NCLEX) I would at least apply to jobs. There are plenty of nurses in your shoes that have found jobs. It may be a bit more difficult and some places will not hire you, but you will find work. Now if you have been licensed for some time and haven't worked that may make things a bit more difficult. The sooner you start applying the sooner you will find a job.

Most LVN programs are not accredited. For instance, the state of California has 200+ LVN programs and not a single one is accredited. Texas has many LVN programs, but only two or three are accredited.

I, too, attended an unaccredited LVN program and never had any issues finding employment. Good luck to you.
