New LPN with Many Blessings!

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Long story short, I took the NCLEX-PN on June 17th, got my quick results that I passed on June 19th, and my license number was up on SC LLR by 7:30AM on July 7th. Well today (July 9th), I decided to go visit a few places to find a job. With resume and other important info on hand, I started out at 10AM. I had a list of 27 places to visit. I went to the first place and they didn't hire LPNs. Went to the second place, and their story was the same as the first. Got to the third place and was hired on the spot! I begin July 20! And guess what!? Despite what everyone told me, I DIDN'T get stuck with the night shift position!

That is awesome. I am on my way to starting the nursing journey. Good luck to you!

Congrats! Best of luck!

That is great!! How is it going? I am in school started in May, it is a full time program 1 year long. I have top grades, but worry about getting a job because I am 60 (had to start over after horrible divorce from 30 year marriage). Do you have any advice, for school? For testing NCLEX? For job hunting? Thanks!!! Congratulations!!

Hi SchnauzerloverP!

I honestly am not the best advice giver lol. All I can say is study hard and start job hunting immediately after graduation. I wanted to wait until I got my license number before I went hunting but in the interview I was asked whether or not I had my license yet so I'm assuming that any interested can have a spot held? Not sure though. For NCLEX, I promise you that 99.9% of the people feel as if they have failed! I surely did. But I'd say to get up early, eat breakfast, and DO NOT study the day before. RELAX! I know you hear it all the time but, honestly, if you burn yourself out studying, your nerves will get the best of you! Good luck on all your future endeavors!

Congrats! Best of luck!

Thank You! I need all the luck I can get!

Congratulations! I'm in SC, too.

Thanks You! May I ask what county? I'm in Darlington County.
