Moving to Dallas, Tx soon

I currently reside in California but will be moving to Dallas, Texas by next year due to husband getting a new job and I was wondering what the job market is like out there.

I have experience in home health and temp agencies.

All your insights and responses will be greatly appreciated.

The LVN employment market in the Dallas area is oversaturated with too many inexperienced nurses, but you should be able to find work if you have some experience and are not too selective regarding the shifts you are willing to accept.

Thanks....I am looking into the transfer of license process and it looks like it is time consuming.

Do you have any insights as far as landing a job before moving out here and what steps to take.

This is my 1st time ever doing this and I am a nervous wreck!!

You have 30 days after you move here to start the process of getting your TX license. You will have to take a jurisprudence test and finger printing. Yes, the market is saturated here, however I had no problems finding a job in pediatric private duty. I also work for a temp nurse agency. Like the previous poster said before, it may not be the hours you want. Good luck and a big Texas howdy do to you.

Nibbles1, can you recommend some good temp or placement agencies to go to for help with finding a job, thanks. I am a new Nurse living in TX. I do have DR Office experience.
