LVN program in southern california

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Ive never been to school for nursing but I would like to take my first step and get my LVN. i would eventually like to have a bsn but thats down the road. anyway I am married to the military so i need a short program that doesnt have a huge wait list because i wont be anywhere long enough to finish anything. my question is what is a good, affordable, private school in southern california that takes around a year to finish the LVN program. I know I can do an LVN-RN later at a junior/community college but for now LVN is good. any suggestions? please be as detailed as possible as i want to start school soon! thanks

wooops. i just signed up, and i dont know how to delete that post but i realized i am in the wrong section. sorry!

I was going through the same problem and the only thing i found that would allow me to graduate before my husband got new orders was in Concorde (the San Diego campus). I start there LVN program on July 28th :yeah:and graduate in Aug 2009. The cost of the program is about $27,000 but since you are a military spouse you may qualify for some grants. Once i got all those grants together the cost of school for me is going to be around $15,000. If you have any question feel free to ask me :)

Good luck!

I went to American Career College. I have heard Concord is better. There was one other one I heard about, but can't remember the name...

wooohooo Concorde grad here... loved the school, but hated the recent high school grads there. As with any school there's always students that don't take there education serious. The North Hollywood campus was great, the year went by fast and now years later I'm an LVN. Casa Loma is another school, but a classmate had gone there first and had a horrible experience there. The cost of the school was worth it for me and I'd do it again.
