Lpn in public health

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Are there any LPNs in public health? I recently met a friend who is diagnosed with HIV positive and he works as an educator and councilor and I am interested in joining the fight but was wondering how I could incorporate my future license. I'm also becoming interested in public health in general not just HIV awareness and prevention. Any insight, advice, or tips?

Anyone?
There are very few LPNs in public health in the US these days. The minimum educational level for a beginning public health nurse is the BSN degree.

I do know of a small number of LPNs in public health, but they are all 'older' nurses who got into the specialty decades ago when nobody was asking for the BSN degree.
