First nursing job?

I graduated in December 2013 and since then have been taking my prerequisites for the LVN-RN program. I'm hoping to be accepted into the Spring 2015 program and will be taking full-time hours for fall 2014.

I've started my job search within the last month but I cannot find anyone who is willing to hire me for part-time or PRN work considering I don't have any experience.

Any suggestions on places I should try? I'm in Houston, Texas so I know there has to be something out there. Maybe I'm just not looking on the right search engines?

Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I'm in galveston Texas I got my license April 2013. I had little to no experience. I got hired at a facility on the island on the skilled floor. The only reason I got the interview is by knowing someone who already worked there. My advice walk into every long term care facility with your resume drop it off and fill out a application then keep checking up on it so they no your serious. Good luck!

Or perhaps you might be spending too much time looking for jobs online and applying to positions that already have 100+ applicants in the database.

I concur with the previous poster who advises you to pound the pavement and apply for jobs in person. Good luck to you.
