Nurses LPN/LVN

Hi,

I am looking into applying for the Sept 15' LVN program at DNI. I was just wondering if anyone going now or recently graduated could tell me of their experience there. I've read some not really great reviews, but they all were at least 6 yrs old. Any help would be great! Thanks

The Dallas area job market has been oversaturated with too many LVNs for the past six years. I certainly advise anyone against spending $30,000 for an unaccredited LVN program when you are not guaranteed a job after graduation.

i work with several graduates of that program.i do believe employers prefer graduates from accredited good standing schools with high pass rates.$30,000 is crazy for that school.i recommend grayson college or el centro.tuition is around $8,000.

I am almost enrolled for the DNI program September 2015 for weekend program. Just need to conplete the drug screening next week! I have a friend who took this same program. She started earning $21 hour on her first job working at a hospital. Have some faith! If anything you can bridge to RN afterwards. That's what I am doing :)

I chose DNI back in 2007 because I needed to continue working full time while I got my LVN. It was a great choice for me, of course there were many hiccups because we were the first nights and weekends class. The administration at times had no idea what they were doing, and we sort of learned as we went. but we got through it, learned what we needed to learn, and became LVNs. Hopefully they have come a long way since then. But yes it is very expensive. If you can go straight to an RN, I would recommend that to anyone. As an LVN, you become stuck if you can't afford to / find the time to bridge.

Where is your friend working, if you don't mind me asking?? Hardly any hospitals hire LVN's anymore, I know because Ive tried- only luck has been clinics and LTC :(
