Applying for jobs after being unemployed and having a baby

Has anyone ever had experience applying for jobs after being unemployed for less than 2 years due to caregiving for a family member? I have been continuing education and took refresher courses. I would like to know how you answered questions in interviews, what questions were asked and if you, like me, feel or have felt anxious after having been confident in the past?

I was on disability for 13 years. When that ran out, I called an ECF to ask the location because the help wanted ad didn't contain that info. The DON answered and asked if I wanted to set up an interview, which I did. Due to the number of years since my last job, she said she wouldn't worry about past references. I was hired after a second interview. That was 10 years ago. Just be honest. Don't volunteer anything. It was 12 hr nights, quite a distance from my residence, but worth it to get back into nursing. Good luck.

I took 2 years off to take care of my father. I was a little rusty and I knew it. Did some agency work while I was job hunting.

As far as the gap on your resume.... no one questioned the reason when I explained I was fulfilling a family obligation ..and after all, it's still nursing.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.
