any lvns being used as techs

i dont mind working as a a tech if they are short but out of the 3 days i worked last week i was a tech for 2.it just seems like they dont even bother to call the PRN techs they just schedule me without even asking.am pretty easygoing and believe in teamwork so i do what needs to be done.it jsut seems like they are taking advantage.

Arent they supposed to let me decide if i want to work as a tech or get cancelled that day?is this happening to other lvns too and what to do about it?

ive decided not to log in until i see the if theyve scheduled me as a tech so i can leave .is it abandonment if i havent clocked in but am in the building.am in texas....

Are you per diem, or new at the job? Is there a union that you can inquire about the job description? In fact, there should be a job description given to you when you first got hired. I'm not sure, but I'd be a bit careful about loitering around the building and then going home...you don't know who sees you and reports it to the powers that be. Even if you are right, it leaves a certain impression that can't easily be erased if it gets back to them.

no i am not per diem,i have been therew 6 months and no one complains about my work.they have problems keeping techs and i dont know why because the job is simpler that nursin homes...i think its time to move on to anothjer job.id have liked to stay 1 yr but thats not going to happen this time

I understand. Just be sure that you find a secure position elsewhere before you fly the coop. And, as I said earlier, if you are going to try and find out what is happening, avoid being on the grounds. Best of luck seeking a new position!
