Hi! Just wondering if anyone has applied to the accelerated nursing program at EJGH. Application deadline was March 15, and I am already anxious to receive a letter!! I know its going to be awhile, but was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes before getting a decision letter or interview letter... anything!

Thank you very much.... I checked the hospital's job offerings and they listed an opportunity for new students starting the ace program in FALL 09 with a 3 yrs commitment agreement with the hospital. I'd love to apply but I am not sure if I will stay after the program is over. Note to all: If interested, apply asap because the application deadline is on July 15th

look through Ololcollege website and click on the regional hospital site.

Hi, Everybody!

I wanted to follow up with the posters here and see if everyone attended orientation as scheduled and what your thoughts are on things so far. I know that a few students have been in touch with the recent EJ graduates. Does anyone have advice to share/tips, etc?

I'm feeling pretty good about things (except tuition of course!) and am basically trying to get my house in order prior to the start of the program, and to get my head wrapped around some of the pharmacology concepts. What's everyone else doing?

NOLAdancer stated that Delgado's next application deadline is 1/31/2010 for Spring '11 entrance. There is actually another earlier deadline for Delgado. It is September 23rd 2009 for Fall 2010 entrance.

Hi,

I know that you are in the middle of your program by now, but what happened with the financial aid? I am applying for the next class at the OLOL Tulane campus and I 'm trying to figure out the money situation if I get accepted. Thanks

Hi, I got a student loan to cover $12,500 of the tuition and a WIA grant of $6k to pick up the slack. Good luck. Go for EJ if you can!

Thank you so much! I will! Good Luck to you!

I was just looking at OLOL's website, and I noticed that a prior bachelor's degree is no long listed as one of the requirements for the accelerated program. Have they changed the requirement's, or is it just not listed?

not sure about the bachelor's requirement being changed.. That would be nuts - unless they're changing the degree to BSN and extending the program, which I have heard rumored but that should be a little ways off.

As far as WIA, myself and many of my classmates were successfull through the unemployment office. "WIA" stands for "workforce investment act." You have to jump through a few hoops to get the money, but it's totally worth it. Good luck to all. Make sure you have your ducks in a row before starting this program. If you have any doubts, get them resolved. There won't be time for it once you start.

I just looked at the Website too and you're right -- they've taken that requirement out. I know for sure that they are in the process of creating an accelerated BSN program (to be ready to go in a few years), so perhaps this is a change that interfaces with that somehow. What I do know is that this is the most disorganized, unprofessionally run educational program I have ever seen. They have a few good teacher who are real gems, but the program is very poorly managed and that creates countless problems for the students. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere. I wish I'd have gone to one of the accerated programs at LSU or Southeastern.
