I have applied to the BSN program and am waiting to hear from them? Does anyone know when this usually is?

Has anyone gotten a letter of any kind regarding the Fall 2013 BSN program?

I got accepted for the Class of 2015 BSN program!! I start august 20th and I'm so nervous! Any advice or info on courses, schedule, etc. would be helpful!

mlacy, how was the nursing program or are you still in it? I'm so anxious to start in August. Is there anything I should know, anything I should buy, etc.? How much was your tuition? I have some scholarships, but will have to use some loans to help

I know this thread is years old, but I am hoping someone who has experience with USM can shed some light. I am currently working on pre-reqs and planning on applying to the accelerated program for Summer 2016. I would prefer the traditional track but the $25k/year is a bit much for me! However, the accelerated program honestly intimidates the heck out of me, also. Just looking for anyone who has experience with any of the nursing programs at USM. Thank you!!

Hello NLB32,

I wonder if you got in the ABSN of USM last 2016. I am applying there right now and am still waiting for my credentials to be evaluated. If you were able to get in, how was the experience? I am just like you a bit apprehensive because of the fast-paced of the program. I hope you did get in and that you are already a registered nurse by now.

Hi Dadang,

I am due to begin the USM accelerated program this summer and all efforts to get any info from current or past students on the state of the program has been futile. Please did you finally attend the school? If so how was it please?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Makalisia,

I applied and got accepted in the program last year, and I am about to graduate end of June this year. It is indeed a fast paced program but I am sure you can do it. In our class of 22, only one failed the program but, he is in the traditional track now and still working hard to be a nurse. The very first semester was the hardest but as you get accustomed to the pace then you will do better. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I worked hard and I am proud to maintain a 4.0 GPA. Many of my classmates got excellent grades. The subjects that I would say were more challenging are Patho 1 & 2, and Med Surge 1 & 2. The teachers are all very supportive and the program is designed to make you pass the NCLEX. In case you need some books, I can sell you some of my used books. If you have time, start studying your patho because many of my classmates had a tough time with this subject. Once you pass your 1st and 2nd semesters, the rest is easy.

Also, USM is really a great school. I still have more than 1 sem left but I already have a job offer. So go girl! As long as you work hard and manage your time wisely you can do it.

If you need an apartment, I think there are units available in River City Rentals and it is just across USM.

Hi Dadang,

Thank you so so much for responding. You don't know how ecstatic i was when I got your response because I have tried so hard to get info for so long. You answered all my questions and reassured all my uncertainties now I can go ahead and finish up my document submission process. Yes I definitely wold love to buy books from you. How can we go about this? Also congratulations on your job offer! I will be in school on June 26th so I'm hoping I will be able to meet you then?

Regards,

Makalisia

Hi Makalisia,

I am not sure if I will be in school that time since we are only meeting at school once a week for our last semester. You may text me at 9165215376. I can meet you at school if I do not have my clinical that day. We will also be done by the 28th of June so anytime after that I am free. I am excited for you! If you get interviewed just be confident that you can make it. The faculty will tell you how difficult and demanding the program is because they try to weed out those who are not determined enough, but tell them you can do it.
