What is ENROLLED NURSE in Singapore and how does it work?

Hi guys,

I'm new here. I'm a General Scope Nurse in Qatar. I have 2 years experience in 150 bed capacity in Philippines. I am currently working in a Polyclinic for 16months now. I'm planning to transfer in SNG soon. As I did my research, I end up reading this Enrolled Nurse but I'm still confused on how does this work. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Will I still be able to get a Registered license once? Thanks!

I'd say that it is similar to the Australian system an EN is a second level nurse like a LVN

I would think a General scope nurse is like a general RN - Registered nurse. An enrolled nurse is like a LPN BUT an Enrolled nurse usually go to school for 2 years FULL TIME and have to do TONS of clinicals and have about 2000 clinical hours before sitting for the licensing exam in foreign countries. In the US LPN ( similar to Enrolled nurses) go to school for 1 year although there are Associates degrees 2 years for LPN here in the U.S. I think.

Canadian LPNs are educated in the roughly the same system as the Australian. Our programme is 2+ years and placements are a huge part of our education.

Is nursing in Canada similar to nursing in Australia or is it more like the US?

I think Enrolled nursing is applicable to those who obtained diploma in nursing. The BSN of Filipino nurses is for an RN not EN.
