Is it true that by february,2007 the US government will release 10-25thousand visa for nurses? I have also heard that congress are now working on to make the visa for nurses unlimited by june 2007.. please give ne more information. Many thanks.
The 1st one is unlikely. The 2nd one is what is more likely to happen but not so sure if it's really going to be unlimited in the strict sense.
You can go to the diff. immigration websites for up-to-date details regarding immigration issues, such as www.shusterman.com
and there are more when you google.
I say that the 1st one is unlikely because the 50,000 visas that Pres. Bush signed last May 2005 only lasted until Nov. 2006 and out of those 50,000 visas it was found out that only 15,000 or so were actually given to the nurses and the rest were given to their families. If indeed there will be 15k to 25k visas it will most prob. be used as "band-aid" for those caught up in retrogression or a transition to the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill but I doubt it, esp. if there will be a New Comprehensive Immigration Bill by more or less June. There will be no need for that 15-25k anymore.
Also, if you want to know what's happening and what's being discussed by the US Congress you can go to their website at www.house.gov
. and see their daily comittee hearings.
