i would like to know if having a tatoo is permitable for us who is in medical profession, it's one of my frustation in life.:D i was under the impression that having a tattoo if you are a nurse will cause you not to get hired if you are going to apply in other countries or local.correct me if im wrong.thank you

definitely a negative factor. try having measures to remove that and i'm quite positive, removal can be done thru modem methods. If am the employer and even the immigration officer, it would give a bad impression on you, thus, slightly contributing to the denial of your entry/ application for immigration. just my two cents

some of my co workers have tattoos. maybe it shouldnt be offensive.

i understand that most of us will have a negative feedback about this, but what i want to know is that is there anyone here have a tatto and had an experience that they never got hired because of their ink.most especially in applying to other countries :)

i have a 2 friends who failed their medicals with the Canadian embassy for their tattoos. 'coz all their other physical test results are ok and both are "strong as bulls". FYI, you'll be asked to stripped naked as part of the exam. Another friend was asked to get a doctor's comment about his scar on his hand he got from surgery. But gets approval afterward.

I can't see how having a tattoo is grounds to fail a medical for Canada. There must have been something else. I have also had a medical for Canada for a student visa/TWP because the job was for a nurse and didn't have to strip naked but did have to get undressed, I also had a breast examination but never took off my pants.

Perhaps the medical procedure for females are different for males, all three are males, they were asked to stand fully naked then checked physically. We presumed it's their tattoos since they have regular medical checks annually in their work and always pass without problem. Anyways, I think it will be more prudent to avoid having one, just to be on the safe side. But that's just for me personally.

I still can't see how having a tattoo would be a failure in the medical, you say you have presumed this is the reason and I think if it was me I would be getting a definite answer because there are many people with tattoos here in Canada both native and immigrants and I am sure a lot of immigrants had their tattoos before medical

I too would like to get a definite answer, but all the visa officer stated in the returned papers is: "denied due to unfavorable medical result". Since they like to try their luck again, they don't want to sound like contesting the result. Perhaps there's anyone there who has different experience. Or better yet, let's wait for johnsia's experience. Best regards.

as of now i don't have any tatoo on my body, but im planning to have one.:D (the caduseus symbol) but im still hesitant because it may cause me not getting a job local and abroad:confused:

abroad, you shouldn't have to worry about that

even physicians are ink'd in this part of the world.

what matters most is your competency.
