Hi

I have submitted my Visa Screen application form. I am thinking of applying to the NY Bon (after hearing from here that it is the best way to go) and looking at their site am I right in thinking that I also have to complete the Credentials Verification form aswell? Or was this included in the visa screen application?

Anybody know what the Florida BON are like? ie how fast etc

how long before your NCLEX exam did you start studying? :)

I started studying seriously in sept 2004. I attended a 3 day seminar in october which really helped me. I took a pre flight test in december, which I passed at 76% then i stopped studying til after xmas. Then I did some more studying til my exam in Jan. I think I had a small advantage because I have a degree in Midwifery so the ob's and gynae questions were easy for me, you will find your strength. OGP recommend you do 2hours study a day for 4 months. I probably did about 3-4 hours a day 3-4 times a week. I did lots and lots of tests, I did a course with NCSBN-Learning extension which I strongly recommend http://www.learningext.com. I bought a book called 'NCLEX made ridiciously simple' which was brilliant and of course I had two huge text books. It is a very hard horrid exam so I wanted to be well prepared and was advised by somebody who had done it alone to make sure I passed all the tests prior to exam well in excess of 75%. When I started I was getting 63% consistantly and never thought that I would achieve any where near 70% but i did and it was purely due to practicing and practicing the tests, because I had good all round knowledge of nursing, processes ect, I read the text books just as a form of revision. There is a knack with the exam.

I would start sooner rather than later.

I took my n-clex in savannah, but was licensed thru vermont and now have a vi licence. no problems to get it between getting the job and arriving here to work, which was 4 weeks. there are lots of nurses here with OGP. I studied about 6 months before taking the exam, with the 3 study days that OGP provide, and they constantly send you practice tests which are returned to them and marked. they also provide n-clex study books with tapes which are excellent. the books also have cd-roms that give you practice tests and these are really good to get a feel for taking the exam on the computer. loads of questions about delegation when we took it.

Thanks Kay
