can i get cvs? coz i was reading the forum according to suzanne4 i nle is optional but others says its not ?

whats cvs? If your referring to NCLEX yes, it is needed.

CVS is the requirement of NY BON for foreign trained nurses.

If they require local license it would state so on the form. I don't think they do but best check with NY BON first, should state on their website

ny bon says i could apply for licensure by examination provided i gave them my application together with cvs.

I was wondering if cgfns' cvs requires nle, local licensure i was having a hard time reaching them coz i don't have cgfns id and you could only asked them if you purchased a service from them i guess.

Im confused wether i should get it or not, if i purchased their service & then my requirements are not enough im doomed its freakn costly.

I personally would suggest you do NLE because with retrogression you are looking at several years and hospitals will expect you to gain some nursing experience whilst waiting. Also we are not seeing many employers petitioning foreign nurses in NY so if that is your destination state then you have to do CVS if it isn't your destination then would consider another state

I would agree take the NLE. You may only find employment in the Phillpines. Most countries want a local license.

The thing is if the state requires local license then you need it. Also expect retrogression to continue and can you afford to stay in the US for a few years as a student and support yourself? You can not adjust your status currently to be able to work and do not expect that window if at all to open again for several years due to the high amount of applications submitted when the window opened briefly in July 07

yea, i see so visa wont be open until after 3 years? too bad im gonna get stuck. As for my target state it doesnt say that they requires nle yet. Thanks silverdragon102

We are expecting things to be more like five years. Having a student visa will not permit you to work here when you are done with your training. Things have changed considerably and are actuallly getting much tougher to be able to work here.

Significantly harder in the past month or two.
