NM to maryland even without CES?

hello!i'm planning to have my evaluation in NM and i heard they give fast results from eligibility to ATT.I have no plans of having the local boards here in the philippines bcoz i'm planning to work in the states.my target location is Maryland but the state needs CES (which requires license verification from the country of nursing education).Since NM and MD are compact state,I decided to get an evalution from NM (which does not require CES) and be licensed there as soon as i pass the NCLEX.And if I pass, I am planning to transfer in MD.however,I worried about the CES requirement for licensure by exam of MD.is it possible that i transfer in MD once i get licensed to NM even if i didn't have their CES?does this apply to the compact state rule?i hope i could get an answer..thanks!

You can't do compact as you are not a permanent resident in NM. There is no guarentee that any state gives a fast eligibility for NCLEX although there are states which are slow. If wanting to work in MD I would suggest applying to the BON and also do CES especially with retrogression you have got the time to do it and it doesn't kick you if anything goes wrong. If you search on here there are a few threads about not sitting your local exams and just putting in a letter explaining that you haven't taken them and the people who have done it this way have had no problems

First, there is not compact license for you, you are not in the US and do not have a legal residency here. The compact license is essentially not available to you as you do not meet the requirements for it. You must maintain a legal residence in that state, which means paying rent on an apt there, and paying taxes there, which you ar not doing now. Therefore, it does not exist. And for any foreign nurse that is not already in the US and actually living in NM when they apply for the license.

MD requires that you pass an English exam as well and have the CES, those are two things that you will need to have when you apply for Licensure by Endorsement.

The compnact license rule does not apply for you if you are not a current resident in the US and in New Mexico.

And per my motto, and I feel like a broken record:

When you try to take a shorcut, it will turn to bite you on the butt. Not sure why you are going the route of NM when you do not want to work there, and will have that as an added expense. You are still going to need to complete the requirements for licensure in MD, and there is no reason at all to go the way that you are wishing to.

Just throwing out money and time................
