Hi. Im so moved by everyone's accounts on why NZ is such a great place to live, work and play! Im a nurse in the Philippines. I had a 5 month job as an ancillary nurse and I was wondering what my chances are of landing a job in NZ.
    Question:
Can I just apply for the registration by myself? I am so loathing the agencies that offer employment in NZ, with high charges for themselves, so ridiculous! I mean it's not so hard to apply for NCNZ right? right?? hahaha!
I have a TOEFL ibt passage mark which wont expire until 2009. Is it possible to use this rather than the IELTS? $150 fee for that is no joke.
Thank you, I hope to hear from you guys!

yes you can do the registration by yourself... IELTS and OET are the only english exam accepted by the nursing council of new zealand. visit www.nurse2nz.blogspot.com and www.nurse2nz.forumotion.com. please register and you can ask nz specific quetions there. There are lots of nz bound pinoy nurses that are willing to help.Goodluck
