NCLEX OR CRNE?

Hello everyone,

Well, I am finally in Toronto and have been in CNO for an application.

I am kinda concerned about CRNE, is CRNE different from NCLEX as far as concept? I passed my NCLEX on first trial. So I don't know how tough the CRNE is. Please any info is appeciated.

Thank you,

I'm doing the opposite. I'll be taking the NCLEX as soon as I get my ATT. The CRNE is difficult but doable. Read the question carefully and all its rationales. It's important to time yourself, you only have 4hrs to answer ~200 questions. Look through different forums related to the CRNE exam, there's definitely a lot of tips. Unlike the NCLEX there's only a few review books so it's not such a challenge to find the "right" one. I suggest you buy the CRNE prep guide by the CNA because they're the ones who administer the test. Good luck and do your best.

Hello Bek1975,

I am in your shoes.

I am a foreign RN graduate and just passed my NCLEX.

I am currently processing my immigration to Canada.

I have a few questions,

Did you have a job lined up before moving? If yes, do they require one to take CRNE and passing before applying for an RN job?

Are you/ Were you in a similar boat as I am? If yes can you please PM so that I can ask for advice.

Thanks

Most if not all jobs that I have seen advertised ask for either pass in CRNE or eligibility to sit CRNE

The two exams are very different from each other. Please read the sticky on the CRNE for more information about our exam. Any other questions related to immigration-type issues must be posted in the International forum. Thanks.
