living and working in Australia

Sorry to intrude but I really want to go and live and work in Australia. I have 3 children ,10,7,5 yrs. I'm worried and a little scared of making that plunge. I do have relatives in OZ but don't really know them. At the moment my husband doesn't want to go. He works in car and household insurance and he doesn't think he will get a job there. I'm worried about schools, childcare etc. Deep down i want to go. Any advice?

Come on in the water is fine!:D

What exactly are your concerns - there are jobs over here - we have childcare but it can be expensive - schools public (state govt) run through to expensive private schools. They are about par with other countries. Hmmm definite advantages - our weather is better but then 90% of the world has better weather than England

Downside - mosquitoes - they like untapped English blood. Will fly 40 miles out of their way to take a bite.:)

It is a big step to take. My biggest step is persuading my husband...lol. I am definately going to enquire. Generally are house prices high in Oz.I'm thinking about adelaide but not sure.I have also been told i need at least 12 months experience. i have onlky been qualified for 6 months

Depends on where you live as to what the house prices are like. Inner Sydney - $2,000,000 + but if you are willing to live in suburbia it is cheaper. Sydney is most expensive Melbourne is also expensive but the other cities are cheaper. Adelaide is supposed to be beautiful but it was going through a rough patch a while back with unemployement,

anyway here is a link. The information on registration is in the "sticky" thread at the top of the forum
