I PASSED!!!! Canadian RN exam CRNE

Hello Dr [Toronto School of Health.com],

I took your CRNE prep course starting in Aug and you had mentioned that nobody tells you how they did. I wanted to let you know that I PASSED!!!! The course was amamzing!!! So many of the questions we discussed in class showed up on the exam. I especially remember the question about the chest tube. If it becomes disconnected to place it in a container of water. That was on the exam. Also, I had asked a question in class about when a pregnant woman can not have sex and that question was also on the exam. Most importantly, I learned how to address each question after I took your course. Once I was able to identify what the question was trying to ask me I was able to determine how to answer the question. The practice questions were also very helpful!!! Some of them I remember being on the actual exam.

Once again, I wanted to thank you. I studied hard, but your course helped me learn HOW to study for the CRNE and, I PASSED!!!

Thank you again.

R.

You must have missed the part where hkaur said she lives in the Yukon... it's a LONG way from Whitehorse to Toronto. It's also unlikely that there are review classes in Whitehorse due to its size and the tiny number of people who would need them. hkaur is on her own. She's also likely going to require some form of SEC.

hkaur, read the following for more information:

Hello Janfrn

thank you for the information. Its been really hard for me for the past few days figuring out a way to HOW to get on the next step for CRNE. I had a few questions in mind and would like to talk about it a bit precisely on phone if its okay with you. I don't want to cause you any discomfort, but again your advise would be of a great help. If you could please pass me your email add or your fone number either of it at [email protected] . trust me, i really really need some guideance at this point of time. I have been to Yukon nurses association too but with no helping information.

regards

I'm sorry but I do not share my phone number with members. You may email me at [email protected]. I'm not sure what further assistance I may offer; I have very little knowledge of registration in the Yukon.

hii silver , i have a doubt about crne exam , im a regd nurse from india and coming to vancouver on a student visa by august, i have registered with novascotia, and icldnt register with BC boz of some deficiencies in ielts score . i wd like to know that am i able to tranfer my eligibilty from novascotia to b.c only to get a centre to write crne in BC. AS I DONT HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT HOW TO TRAVEL TO NOVASCOTIA FROM VANCOUVER AND I HEARD THAT ITS TOO EXPENSIVE.

WILL I GET AN EMPLOYER IN NOVASCOTIA AFTER PASSING CRNE ASI NEED TO GET 250 HOURS WORK EXPERIENCE FROM THE SAME PROVINCE ?

THANK YOU AND ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR A REPLY

No you can't transfer your eligibility from one province to another. You have to meet their requirements in the same way a Canadian or PR would. You could sit your CRNE in another province for NS and you would need to contact NS regarding this.

Whether you will find an employer well I can't say as a lot will depend on where you want to live and what jobs are available. What I can say is that I have seen less and less jobs advertised especially where I live which is approx 2 hours away from Halifax

thank you so much for your reply siver, i have sent my part 1 forms to NS. IM GOING TO DO THE CRNE PREPARATION COURSE FROM VANCOUVER, THATS Y I GOT A STUDENT VISA , i heard that NS is a gud place to work and ive read sum of ur threads about NS, i dont mind to work in any places in nova scotia , as i need 250 hours work experience , is it that difficult to find an employer after getting an eligibility from crnns .

to b honest my plan is to write crne by february , my college in vancouver advised me that they may give references to employers on behalf of me

i really love to work there in NS , ANY SUGGESTIONS OR GUIDELINES ARE TRULY WELCOMED

First of all, the use of all capital letters on the Internet is the equivalent of shouting. Please do not post all in capitals; reserve the use of captial letters for special emphasis on a word or a phrase. Second, the use of text-speak is strongly discouraged here. This is a professional nursing discussion board;text-speak is not a professional method of communication and it does nothing for the user's English language skills. Both of these topics are covered by the Terms of Service: TOS to refresh your memory.

Now to biyaa's questions:

It is permitted to apply for registration in one province but write the CRNE in another. The CRNE is a national exam; the same exam is written in each city with examination facilities on the same day across the country so it makes no difference where the exam is written. A request must be made to the College of Registered Nurses in the province where the candidate has applied for registration well in advance of the scheduled examination date; the College will then provide a written authorization for examination in another province.

I suspect you're confusing the registration requirements in British Columbia with those in Nova Scotia. There is no requirement for 250 hours of supervised practice in Nova Scotia. Only British Columbia has that requirement at present. You stated that you initially wanted to apply to BC but did not meet their IELTS requirements so you defaulted to Nova Scotia. I suspect you know very little about Nova Scotia, other than that you do meet their IELTS standard.

Travel from Vancouver to Halifax will not be cheap since the distance between the two cities is nearly 6200 kilometres (3600 miles). One-way airfare will cost between $400 and $600; the bus won't be much less and the train will be much more.

Obtaining an employer is not as simple as some would have you believe. As silverdragon102 has stated, the vacancies in Nova Scotia are beginning to dwindle... as they are around the country. There is a lot of competition for positions everywhere due to layoffs and bed closures all across the country. Nurses are moving from one province to another to find work. There are no shortcuts or easy ways of finding a nursing job in Canada. Sorry.

thank you so much for your reply, i did not know that , capital letters are not supposed to use here sorry for that .

your advise was good , anyway iam planning to come over there for job hunt as well as to pursue my studies . rest is in the hands of god

i have one more doubt , you told that the rule of 250 hours was applicable only to British Columbia, do you know any other provinces who takes nurses after passing crne from other provinces , without these mandatory working hours?

if i pass crne and apply for other province say alberta or ontario, do i stil need to satisfy their language requirements ?

thankyou in advance for your reply

biyaa, I would say yes you would still need to meet the language requirements for that province as you will still have to meet requirements for IEN. If in doubt the best ones to contact is the college themselves and get an answer in black and white

thank you silver , i have sent an email to th college of nurses in the province where im looking for a job

as per your previous threads , it was informed that these days job advertisements are less in the province novascotia , u mean every health care facilities?

i dont mind to work in any hospital settings , including nursing homes ,

i read many threads , stating that it is difficult to find a job in novascotia , which really frightens me , however i have the confidence to pass crne . i do like to work in any kind of hospital facilities , in the beginning.

could you please guide me regarding this , which all health facilities are more likely to hire me or any instructions ?

thanks in advance

All you can do is apply to the various employers and see if they are willing to assist you . Just saying you will live anywhere is hard because some areas are more rural than others and if you can't drive then you can have issues. Where I live it is very rare to see a bus and those that I have seen have been more for the disabled or are travel coaches rather than local buses. A car is really a better and more reliable option here in NS.I suggest you do your research (Truro and Halifax may be your best bet) and see what jobs and employers there are and approach them

thank you silver i will definitely look in to it
