how much for CA NCLEX? Help!

help, fellow RNs!

I will be processing my application for CA NCLEX and as I have seen on the CA BON site there are a lot of listed fees...i don't know exactly how much to pay for. Please help...How much exactly should I have to have drafted? I don't think I need interim permit since I'm still here in the Phils. Thank you!!!

Do you have a work or immigrant visa already for the USA? if not then I would suggest you rethink using CA for initial license application. Would suggest you take some time to read this forum and maybe try the search facility as much as already been written about the reason why it isn't recommended for initial license

Take the suggestions that Silverdragon has recommended. You should also take the time to read the CA BRN on the requirements for foreign trained nurses. If you read the CA BRN it states clearly what fees need to be paid. If you have any questions your best bet is to contact the CA BRN yourself. I contacted them recently and received a response via email within 96 hours. Try emailing licensing, that's who I emailed. Good Luck

I agree, if you do not have a visa organized or a social security number in the US, you won't be able to get your CA license so should apply to a different state.

I have a pending visa for new york, actually. But it seems NY is more tedious than that of CA.

Either way if you plan to endorse back into NY you will still need to meet the requirements for foreign graduates, your best bet is just to stick with NY if you plan on working there.

As mentioned to work in NY as a nurse you have to go through CVS so start there and save money. Going to another state first will not save you any time

thank you for the replies. the thing is i'm still here in the philippines. i don't know when my visa would actually be released (it's not a working visa, btw..it's IR2). i don't have ssn yet.

I would just start with CVS because if you are planning on living in NY then you have to meet CVS requirements. CVS takes approx 6-8 months before you get eligibility to sit NCLEX so doesn't matter if you are not in the US yet. Same goes for SSN as that will not be issued until in the US.
